Problem with "search" function

Postby solstizio » Mon Mar 23, 2015 12:09 pm

Hello. First of all I want thank you for the excellent software that help me to track the material moviments in my offices. I have installed it on a server with php-postgresql platform, and the only bug that I have found is about the search function. In more detail "search" function runs well when I use numbers, but runs without find matches (or finding only some matches) when I use word or letters. May you do some verifications? Thank you

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback, appreciate it!

Regarding the bug - I can't reproduce it, works fine for me. Could you please describe:

- what fields (including their types) do you use in your template?
- what are the values of these fields which do not match?
- what is the search string?

I would make similar test environment and double check.
Best regards,
Artem

Thank you for your caring.
I have obtained my platform php-postgresql installing Bitnami Wappstack (https://bitnami.com/stack/wapp) on my server that has Windows Server 2003 operative system.
To allow you to recreate my configuration I have done a back-up of my database and I have attached the file meg_dump_14032015.
User "05593660" with password "michi.23" has administrator priviledges.
For example with "Vista Globale" view, you may use "search" function utilizing the names present under the column "Ragione Sociale" (text field) finding that in most cases there are not matches.
Thank you.

Sorry, it seems the attachment is lost. I found there are restrictions on file size at the forum, and it was 256KB maximum - maybe your attachment was bigger. I have currently increased the allowed size up to 4MB, could you please try to attach the file again? If 4MB is not enough, please let me know.
Best regards,
Artem

I have resend the file. I have compressed it to skip extension restrictions. Have you received it? Thank you

I found that PostgreSQL performs case-sensitive search just like Oracle. I have fixed the bug and released the new version 3.8.0 which you can download at https://github.com/etraxis/etraxis-obsolete/releases. Please consider the fact that database schema is changed and you have to proceed with upgrade as described here.

In case of any issues feel free to contact or just raise an issue at GitHub.
Best regards,
Artem
